Starwood announced the "W" brand, and "aloft" and "element" baby brands were also in development.  Miki was part of this genesis at Canoe Hospitality in Hermosa Beach, California as Project Manager while also procuring custom fixtures for Philippe Starck's SLS Hotel - opening it's doors in Beverly Hills, California.
